A private Spanish tutor at Spanish Tinto costs $40 (€37) for a 50-minute 1:1 lesson online, or from $30 (€27.50) per lesson in a 20-lesson pack. Your first class is a 25-minute half lesson for $15 (€13), so you can check level, goal and fit before you spend more.

I am Santiago Garnica, a Colombian lawyer and Spanish tutor. I teach structured 1:1 Colombian / Latin American Spanish online, with short explanations in English (C1) or German (B2) when a rule blocks you. What a private Spanish tutor price depends on

Prices for private Spanish tutors vary a lot, and published “average” figures are rarely comparable. The number you see mostly depends on:

  • Lesson length: 30, 45, 50 or 60 minutes per session. Compare the price per minute of real 1:1 time.
  • Experience and focus: beginners, exam preparation or business Spanish.
  • 1:1 or group: group classes cost less per person but give you less speaking time.
  • Where you book: marketplace fees and commissions, or booking a tutor directly.
  • Single lessons or packs: packs usually lower the price per lesson.
  • Policies: rescheduling, no-shows and pack expiry change what you really spend.

What you get for the price

  • 50 minutes 1:1 online with the same teacher every week
  • Colombian / Latin American Spanish by default (Spain forms explained when you need them)
  • Short bridges in English or German when grammar gets stuck, then back to Spanish
  • One weekly focus and selective correction: a few useful fixes instead of twenty interruptions
  • Direct booking on spanishtinto.com, no marketplace account

You can read what students say in the reviews on the home page.

Which option fits your budget?

Just checking fit: book the half lesson ($15 (€13)). Decide yes, no or not yet. No pack needed.

One month, once a week: four single lessons cost 4 × $40 = $160 (4 × €37 = €148), or take the 5-lesson pack for $170 (€155) and keep one credit spare.

Two to three months, once a week: the 10-lesson pack for $325 (€300) is the option most students continue with.

A longer runway: the 20-lesson pack for $600 (€550) gives the lowest price per lesson, if you will use the credits within 6 months.

Policies that change the real cost

  • Reschedule at least 24 hours ahead
  • A no-show uses 1 credit (or the half lesson, if that was the booking)
  • Packs expire 6 months after purchase
  • No refund on the first paid lesson or on a pack once it has started

Details are in the terms. Booking directly, with written policies, avoids the hidden costs of marketplace messaging and switching teachers every week. See how to book Spanish lessons without a marketplace.
